The Office of the Registrar of Political Parties (ORPP) is an independent public institution established under the Political Parties Act, 2018. The mandate of the ORPP is to register regulate, and oversee the operations of political parties in Malawi. Our Core Functions

Registration & Deregistration
Oversee party registration, amendments, and deregistration processes.

Financial Oversight
Ensure compliance with financial disclosure and funding provisions, including both state and private funding

Compliance Monitoring
Enforce adherence to the law, including matters such as prohibition of handouts.

Receiving Complaints & Investigations
We Receive and investigate complaints in relation to the Political Parties Act.

Civic education and Stakeholder Engagement
Educate the public and collaborate with other stakeholders to support the effective implementation of the Political Parties Act
